Diabact UBT is used to diagnose the presence of Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium that causes gastric ulcers. The product is a breath test based on Orexo’s patented tablet technology for rapidly dissolving tablets. The breath test is painless, has high reliability and takes ten minutes to carry out and is then sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Helicobacter pylori
Helicobacter pylori is an bacteria that infects the mucous membrane of the stomach and is a critical factor in incidence of gastric ulcers. Moreover, Helicobacter pylori has shown to be associated with a multiplied risk of stomach cancer. It is estimated that a total of 260 million people in the world are infected with Helicobacter pylori.
Marketing and sales
Diabuct UBT is marketed and sold by Orexo’s subsidiary Kibion. Launched in 2000, the product is currently sold in Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Serbia, the UK, Sweden, Germany and Austria. In Japan, the product has been licensed out to Kyowa Hakko Kirin.
