OX30 is being developed to create long-acting pain relief medication with little risk of abuse. The active substance is an opioid with a controlled and slow release from an oral dosage form. The active substance is incorporated in a ceramic material, thus making it difficult to extract the opioid, as well as rendering it less prone to abuse.
