Inflammation research
Orexo has world-leading expertise regarding the arachidonic acid cascade, which is a central feature of inflammatory processes. In this cascade, the body’s arachidonic acid is transformed into other cell substances, which control both normal functions in the body and disease processes, especially inflammatory illnesses such as asthma and COPD (smoker’s disease). By applying this knowledge, Orexo develops new drugs to primarily combat asthma, COPD and inflammatory pain.
